Thanks so much LA. Well, big dream items are a replacement van, a vet office to open closer than 3 hours away. Solid loving homes for these dogs so I can take in more. Small things we always need is Nexgard Spectra for parasites and ticks, the only effective (less neurotoxic) support I can administer in 1/3 doses that works but it's $15/chew. I can get that in the next city 3 hours away and have it couriered in. Meaty bones, food, beds, the usual. The spay campaigns are on hold because the vet won't do them in town anymore. The state does one ONCE a year and they cap it at 15 dogs...there are 15 orphan dogs on the CORNER. Ha! So I'm currently trying to find a local to partner with me to find another vet and someone who will donate a space where we can operate on the dogs. All of my "roommates" are altered, trained, vaxxed and ready to roll. Thanks for asking! And thanks for your support.

I have made a monthly Patreon donation which seems a drop in the bucket. I guess every penny counts but you have so much on your plate. It makes me crazy that things like Advantix and other tic/flea products are so overpriced. There must be a ton of expired products being dumped that could be used. I agree about toxicity. Another insane topic. Have you considered Go Fund Me. You are an amazing writer and your story is compelling to say the least. I will continue to read and recommend. I have had a couple of blogs on Wordpress and just feeling this site has a bit more community and straight forward writing, yet to post. I admire your strength in this environment you are in. It’s interesting reading your comments about Canadian snowbirds. At first I was feeling you don’t like Canadians period but last night I was thinking about the Canadians, and I know lots who live around me on Lake Huron, who fly south to their house or condo or rental for 6 months. They leave their homes here empty and then tie up homes down south living half the year. I love winter plus have pets and a house with a bit of land. I can’t imagine leaving. I guess US citizens in the north go south as well. It’s just a strange world. Is your name Lola?

Thanks Lee Ann. I sent you an email the other day, I wonder if you got it? A thank you note for Patreon and Substack. Or vice versa can't recall. But thank you! Funny you wonder about how I feel about Canadians. I have lots of funny stories about snowbirds. I'm a native Floridian so have many decades of this particular experience. :-) I have many Canadian friends in the US as well and to your point I have no legit issue with Canadians. I think people are all weird, just weird regionally. Canadians in Mexico are a different breed, but I live in such a goofy place I never run into them here. They would NEVER ahahahahaha. There are no services or food or retail. Frankly I wouldn't have stopped here either if I hadn't had the car wreck and been dropped here. 99% of the non Mexican folks I run into are Canadian. Americans travel. Canadians overwinter. And Americans don't have $$$ to go anywhere for 6 months. And if they do, they go elsewhere me thinks. I used to run into Minnesota folks in Tulum or Merida or Oaxaca back when I was a "traveler" and cherry picking the sweet spots south of the border. GoFundMe isn't avail in MX I don't think. But I'm open to any and all suggestions. I'm 2 years into this Unplanned Mission from Dog and crowdsourcing in general. Mostly I take care of the dogs and then I wonder how I'm going to pay for all of it. Feel free to drop an email to michele.niesen@gmail.com and no, Lola is a nickname. :-)
